Hi! I'm Smayan Deekonda, a visionary student dedicated to advancing the revolutionary power of computers. As the Founder and CEO of NC Coding Compass, I’ve pioneered initiatives to ignite a passion for computer science in young learners, creating cutting-edge curricula and forging strategic partnerships that equip students with real-world programming expertise.

In addition to my leadership, I hold advanced certifications from IBM in Accelerated Deep Learning with GPU, Deep Learning with TensorFlow, Data Analysis with Python, SQL and Relational Databases, Cloud-Native Applications, and Data Science Methodologies. These credentials empower me to lead groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of AI, data science, and cloud computing.

Beyond NC Coding Compass, I lead high-impact research at UNC Chapel Hill, focusing on cloud computing and genetic-based data science workflows that drive innovation in emerging cloud-based GUIs. At NCSSM, in collaboration with my peers have developed projects on autonomous navigation utilizing LiDAR technology and engineered algorithms for real-time mapping and localization using ROS and SLAM. This work bridged my passion for AI with dynamic systems, driving forward advancements in autonomous navigation technology.
